Vitamin D contained in Protego Vitamin D 1000 Comfort:

• Is essential for proper development and maintenance of healthy bones and helps maintain healthy teeth. 
• Promotes proper absorption of calcium and phosphorus, maintaining normal blood calcium levels.
• Supports the proper functioning of muscles and the immune system.
• Participates in the process of cell division.

Since the synthesis of vitamin D in the human skin in autumn and winter is significantly reduced due to less sunshine and in summer the amount of vitamin D produced by the body may be insufficient due to the widespread use of cosmetics with UV filters. According to the recommendations of Experts¹, it is recommended to take vitamin D in the amount of 1000-2000 IU according to the following scheme:

• Children and adolescents (1-18 years) with obesity: 1,200-2,000 IU between September and April, or year-round if synthesis is insufficient;
• Adults and the elderly: 800-2000 IU depending on body weight from September to April or year-round if synthesis is insufficient, 800-2000 IU in the elderly year-round, 1600-4000 IU in the obese depending on the degree of obesity;
• Pregnant and breastfeeding women: 1500-2000 IU at least from the second trimester of pregnancy;
• Dark-skinned people and those working at night: 1000-2000 IU depending on body weight throughout the year.

It is recommended to take 1 capsule of Protego Vitamin D 1000 daily after a meal. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving.

The dietary supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. A varied diet and a healthy lifestyle should be followed to maintain good health.
